Acer japonicum ‘Vitifolium’
Bearing unusually large leaves for its species, ‘Vitifolium’ is named for the resemblance of leaves of the grape genus, Vitis. The real show here is the prominent fall color displays of golds, transforming into strong tones of crimson and scarlet, changing to a vivid scarlet before the leaves drop. In terms of growth, ‘Vitifolium’ is quite large for the species.
